I finally caught up and bought a Blu Ray player this week. Since I was already given District 9 for Christmas, I bought Inglourious Basterds, Dead Snow, and Planet Terror.

For those wondering, there's definitely going to be a blaxploitation episode of the CL in the future. Nice! Hooooo..."Blackenstein"! What a delightful crock it is. I have it on an old NTSC cardboard slipcase tape. A bit of gore, a bit of unnecessary nudity (always the best kind!), an enjoyably wacky looking Monster and a general fun feeling that only U.S Drive-In/Grindhouse flicks of the 70’s and early 80’s could provide. But it must be declared with great force that the film is shoddy in the extreme and fails on too many of the entertaining levels that classic Grindhouse cinema like “The Ultimate Degenerate", “Basket Case” and “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” excel in, thus it can only be classed as an also ran. Still at least it had imagination and as far as Grindhouse cinema goes my friend...an also-ran is still damn fun. Nice pick up.
